Hatha, Vinyasa, Yoga Nidra and iRest Meditation

What is iRest® Yoga Nidra?
iRest is a guided meditation that increases your ability to cope with what life hands you and enriches your sense of Well-Being. Typically done lying down or seated, Yoga Nidra (sleep of the yogi) is an ancient yoga practice that induces physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. A proven antidote to anxiety and restlessness, the ancient practice of Yoga Nidra has been adopted by veterans, recovering addicts, and run-of-the-mill stressed out people.

Integrative relaxation or iRest® Yoga Nidra was developed by Richard Miller, PhD, a clinical psychologist, author, and Yogic scholar. To find out more information visit the Integrative Restoration Institute website.

 

Hatha Flow:
Classes are muti-level ongoing with modifications shown throughout. The practice is a blend of movement often beginning with standing asanas and flowing into floor asanas into relaxation. Everyone is encouraged to practice within their own comfort level using the breath as a guide. Check in with instructor before class with any injury, or concern you may have.

 

Vinyasa:
This class is based on the Primary series of Ashtanga yoga. The `Ujjayi` breath, and `Bandhas` (internal locks) are practiced along with a short version of the `Primary` series. The practice is lead with modifications and with always an encouragement to move within your own range of motion.

 

Yoga Nidra:
In this 6 week series students learn the essentials of Yoga Nidra in an experiential, interactive setting. Each class will begin with discussion and lecture followed by 30-40 minute meditation.

 


Schedule:
Monday/ Friday 8-9am Hatha Flow – all levels
Wednesday class Vinyasa.  8-9 am
Tuesday 9-10am Hatha Flow
Saturday 11am-12:30 pm, 90 minute practice of hatha flow, and guided meditation. The asana practice is about 50 minutes, followed by a 30 minute yoga nidra guided meditation.
1 evening a week for yoga nidra meditation series that starts in Jan.
